October Newsletter. 10/1/2026

Well, here we are in the month of October, Fall has officially arrived after a very hot & humid summer.
We at UCBC had a great September, with several new visitors coming and we had a series of sermons this month on “The Church- The Greatest Institution on Earth.” It enlightened us and challenged us as a church on how we got started, how and who we serve and what our main purpose for existence is all about.
Now as we move forward into October, we have another exciting month ahead serving the Lord. On Sundays in October, I will be presenting a Sermon Series on The Book of Jonah.
We’re having our fellowship “Soup, Sandwich & Chili Supper” on Sunday Evening, October 11th, 2026, at 6:00. Potluck Style and invite family, friends, neighbors and enemies to join.
Trunk or Treat will be on Halloween Day, Saturday, October 31st from 6:00 - 8:00 in the church parking lot. Yet another opportunity to serve our community in love & fellowship.
We will be participating in Richmond's Halloween Hoedown in downtown Richmond on Thursday, October 29th from 6:00 - 8:00 with a booth advertisement and lots of our church information with plenty of giveaways like Christian trinkets, literature and candy. I have a canopy with a huge backdrop with our church’s name on it and a tablecloth advertisement. Here we can invite and expose our church to many, many people in two hours with brochures and information on our church.
The “Young at Heart” is planning our monthly outing by going to “The Bread of Life Cafe” in Liberty, KY on Tuesday, October 27th.
October 2026 marks my 1 yr anniversary as your pastor at UCBC. My family and I joined UCBC on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, a few weeks after being called and accepted as Pastor on Sunday, September 28th, 2025.
We have agreed as a church that for at the present time it would be best to “Suspend” our Sunday Evening worship service, due to lack of participation. We will re-visit this subject next year when Daylight Savings Times begins. We all thank you for your understanding in this matter and to those who supported the efforts.
On Sunday, November 1st, 2026, Daylight Savings Time will End. On Sunday, March 12th, 2028, Daylight Savings Time will Resume.
As always, it’s a joy to serve UCBC as pastor and excited about where God leads us in the coming years ahead. Remember I am here to help you with any Spiritual concerns or matters.
Be the “salt - light and a Lighthouse in someone's life today showing them the love and compassion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Continue to preach the word whenever you are at that moment so others may see Jesus in you!
