June Newsletter. 6/1/2026
I praise thee O’God for thy Son of Thy Love; For Jesus who died and is now gone above.
Well, here we are entering the month of June already and we at Union City Baptist Church have a very exciting month planned ahead and we want you and your family to be a part of what God is doing here.
The month of JUNE has some very exciting happenings.
June 7th thru 10th is the Southern Baptist Conference in Orlando FL this year. My family and I will be attending this event and are adding a few days of vacation to it and will be returning on Friday, June 12th.
Bro. Tony Hancock will be filling the pulpit on Sunday June 7th, “NO EVENING SERVICES ON THIS DAY. ITS also the day of “The Lords Supper.”
We are trying “Sunday Night Service at 6:30 but it’s been a hard start since it’s been some time span since UCBC has had evening services. Our attendance on Sunday Evenings has been somewhat disappointing with only 6 or 7 in attendance but I’m very appreciative of those the Lord sends. We will continue to monitor and pray about our Sunday Evening Services for now.
Baby Bottle campaign (AFFIRM - Madison County Pregnancy Help Center runs from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. Grab a Baby Bottle and put either a Check or Cash in it to help this God-Centered awesome organization out today.
BIG DAY COMING at UCBC on Sunday June 14th we’ll celebrate our 214th HOMECOMING with the Meadow Green Trio Singing and The Browns (Croatian Missionaries and a BIG POT-LUCK DINNER after the morning services. “NO EVENING SERVICE” planned on this day.
Father’s Day there’s “NO EVENING SERVICES”
Also, I’m excited that we are planning on installing a “Digital Screen Display Monitor” (It has been ordered and has arrived) outside where the old sign is today for the church and community announcements. Bro, Eldon Howard has agreed to help re-do the interior of the sign on the property now and it will also house our new LED Digital Screen.
Some other Great News for UCBC is God has given us an awesome vision to look into adding a possible new steel structure adjacent to the sanctuary that to begin with will become our accessible Fellowship Hall and Multi - Purpose Facility which will be ground level and easily accessible to all to enjoy in the near future. Possible structure size 60’ X 84’ X 18’. As always though PRAY, PRAY for God's guidance all the way as we seek His Leadership.
Please continue to pray for our church as we reach our community with the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ and Glorify His name!
Your Pastor,
Michael G. Barnes
As always, I'm so glad to serve UCBC as lead pastor and excited about where God leads us in the coming years ahead.
Be the “salt - light and a Lighthouse in someone's life today showing them the love and compassion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
